CAT 2026 admit cards due today on iimcat.ac.in; exam on November 29 in three slots
IIM Indore, which is conducting this year's Common Admission Test, is set to release hall tickets on November 4. Here is what candidates need to know.

Candidates preparing for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 can expect their admit cards on Wednesday, with IIM Indore, the convening institute this year, scheduled to make them available on the official website, iimcat.ac.in.
According to education portals tracking the exam, downloads are expected to open around noon on November 4. Candidates will need to log in with their user ID and password. The hall ticket will remain available for download until exam day, so candidates who face technical trouble on the first day need not panic.

Exam day and pattern
The computer-based test will be held on Sunday, November 29, in three slots: 8:30 am to 10:30 am, 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, and 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The admit card will show the slot allotted to each candidate, along with the reporting time and test centre address.
The paper is expected to carry 68 questions across three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Ability. Each correct answer earns three marks and a wrong answer to a multiple-choice question costs one mark.
What to check
Candidates should verify their name, photograph, registration number, exam date, slot and centre details as soon as they download the document, and contact the CAT helpdesk quickly if anything is wrong. A printed copy of the admit card, along with valid photo identification, will be required at the centre, and candidates should read the exam-day instructions printed on it carefully.
CAT is the main gateway to postgraduate management programmes at the IIMs and is also used by many other business schools in India for shortlisting. Scores from this year's test are expected to remain valid until December 31, 2027.
After results are declared, IIMs and other institutes issue calls for further rounds such as written ability tests and personal interviews. Candidates are advised to rely only on official notices on iimcat.ac.in for any schedule changes.
