A two-wheeler rider has been arrested for assaulting a BMTC driver in Bengaluru.

A troubling incident of road rage unfolded in Bengaluru, where a two-wheeler rider assaulted a BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) bus driver. The confrontation occurred at the Hale Guddadahalli junction on Mysuru Road. The accused, a 36-year-old carpenter named Kamal Singh, claimed that a BMTC bus had brushed against his bike, which led him to board the bus and confront the driver, Murthuja Imam Saab. The altercation quickly escalated, resulting in the bus driver suffering injuries from the assault.

The situation was brought under control when the conductor and passengers intervened, locking the assailant inside the bus until the Byatarayanapura police arrived. Despite the rider’s claims, the bus staff denied the incident of a collision between the bus and the motorcycle. Imam was taken to a hospital for treatment, while Singh was arrested for the attack. This assault adds to the rising concerns over the safety of BMTC staff, especially considering recent similar attacks on public transport employees.
