The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Banaras Hindu University (BHU) recently hosted a program focused on the future of diplomacy. The event brought together eminent diplomats, scholars, and students to discuss and deliberate on emerging trends in international relations and the evolving role of diplomacy in a rapidly changing world.
The program titled “Future Diplomacy: Navigating Global Challenges” aimed to provide a platform for meaningful dialogue on critical issues shaping the international landscape. With the participation of renowned diplomats and experts in the field, the event sought to shed light on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for diplomacy in the 21st century.
Dr. Anjali Singh, the program coordinator and an international relations expert, emphasized the significance of such gatherings in fostering knowledge exchange and encouraging young minds to think critically about global affairs.
“The future of diplomacy holds immense importance in addressing complex global challenges, and it is essential to engage with both seasoned diplomats and the young generation to enrich the discourse on international relations,” said Dr. Singh.

The discussions centered around topics such as digital diplomacy, climate diplomacy, economic diplomacy, and the role of technology in shaping diplomatic practices.
Eminent speakers at the event included Ambassador Rajesh Kumar Sachdeva, Joint Secretary (Disarmament & International Security Affairs) at the Ministry of External Affairs, and Ambassador Nandita Bakshi, a seasoned diplomat with rich experience in international negotiations.
