The sponsoring body behind the university is a charitable trust, registered not for academic excellence but under a vaguely defined social-service mandate: it claims the right to set up orphanages, rehabilitation centres, yoga studios — and, among other things, educational institutes. Yet, despite this modest origin, it gained backing from the state legislature in 2023 to establish the private university.
