CMRS Inspection of Two Metro Lines by Sept 15, Says BMRCL

CMRS inspection

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced that the inspection of two important Metro lines by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) is expected to be completed by September 15, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of the city’s metro network.

The CMRS inspection is a crucial step in ensuring the safety and operational readiness of the new Metro lines, which will contribute to easing traffic congestion and improving public transportation in Bengaluru.

The two lines under inspection are:

  1. Reach 6 (Gottigere to Swagath Road Cross): This stretch, known as the Pink Line, is approximately 6.29 kilometers long and will connect Gottigere in the south to Swagath Road Cross in the central part of the city.
  2. Reach 6A (Yelachenahalli to Silk Institute): Part of the Green Line, this 6.29-kilometer extension will connect Yelachenahalli to Silk Institute, further enhancing connectivity in the southern part of Bengaluru.

The CMRS inspection is a comprehensive process that evaluates the safety and quality standards of the Metro infrastructure, including the tracks, stations, signaling systems, and operational procedures. Once the CMRS provides clearance, the Metro lines can proceed with passenger operations, bringing much-needed relief to commuters.

The expansion of the Bengaluru Metro network is expected to have a positive impact on the city’s transportation landscape by reducing road congestion, lowering carbon emissions, and providing a more efficient and reliable means of commuting.

BMRCL officials have expressed confidence that the inspection process will be completed successfully, allowing for the opening of the new Metro lines to the public in the near future. The launch of these lines is eagerly anticipated by Bengaluru’s residents, as it will enhance the city’s public transportation system and contribute to its continued growth and development.

As the CMRS inspection date approaches, the BMRCL is working diligently to ensure that all necessary safety and operational standards are met, marking a significant step forward in the expansion of Bengaluru’s Metro network.
