Gurgaon, September 1, 2023 – In a baffling incident that unfolded in Gurgaon, a woman who had previously made headlines for duping a cab driver of Rs 2000 has now stirred controversy by refusing to pay a staggering Rs 20,000 salon bill after an exhaustive 9-hour beauty session.
The woman, identified as Priya Gupta, gained notoriety earlier this year when she was accused of fleeing without paying a cab fare in the city. Now, she finds herself at the center of another controversy, this time involving a high-end salon in Gurgaon.
According to the salon’s owner, Rajesh Sharma, Priya Gupta booked an appointment for various beauty treatments and therapies on August 31. What was initially expected to be a standard session took a bizarre turn as Priya spent a staggering 9 hours at the salon, availing multiple treatments ranging from hair coloring to facials and spa services.
After the extensive session, when it was time to settle the bill, Priya was presented with a bill totaling Rs 20,000, which included charges for each of the services she had availed. However, to the shock of salon staff and Mr. Sharma, Priya flatly refused to pay the bill, claiming that the services were not up to her satisfaction.
An argument ensued between Priya and the salon staff, which soon escalated, drawing the attention of other customers and onlookers. Eventually, the Gurgaon police were called to mediate the dispute. Officers arrived at the salon and attempted to resolve the issue amicably. Priya Gupta, however, remained adamant about not paying the bill.
Rajesh Sharma, the salon owner, expressed his disbelief at the situation. “We provided Priya with top-notch services and products throughout her extensive session. It’s disheartening to see someone try to evade payment for services rendered. Our salon has a reputation for excellence, and we stand by the quality of our work,” he stated.
Priya Gupta’s refusal to pay the bill comes as a surprise, given her previous run-in with the law involving a cab fare dispute. She was fined and ordered to compensate the cab driver in that incident.
The Gurgaon police are currently investigating the matter, and legal action may be taken against Priya Gupta if she continues to refuse payment for the salon services she received.
