Pakistani National and Family Arrested in Bengaluru for Fake ID Cards

Pakistani national family arrested at Jigani in Bengaluru with fake ID cards

In a significant operation, the Jigani police in Bengaluru arrested a Pakistani man, Rashid Ali Siddiqui (alias Shankar Sharma), along with his Bangladeshi wife Rubina (alias Rani) and two children, for living illegally in India using forged documents. The family had been residing in Bengaluru since 2018 after initially entering India illegally in 2014 via Delhi.

Siddiqui fled Pakistan due to religious conflicts, marrying Rubina in Bangladesh before entering India with fake Aadhaar cards, driving licenses, and passports. Upon moving to Bengaluru, the family settled in Jigani and engaged in small-scale activities, including operating an online biryani delivery business. The arrest followed an intelligence tip-off, and authorities seized digital devices from their home to investigate potential connections to larger networks or security concerns.

The case raises questions about how the family evaded detection for so long despite possessing fraudulent documents. Investigators are delving into their affiliations, particularly with religious organizations and local contacts who may have facilitated their stay.

This incident highlights the ongoing challenge of tackling illegal migration and securing identity verification processes in India. Further investigations are underway to determine the full extent of their activities and potential risks.
