National Education Policy 2020: Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam to Commence in New Delhi

Akhil Bhartiva Shiksha Samagam

The University Grants Commission (UGC), under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has issued a circular (D.O. No. F. I-06/2023(NEP-ABSS)) to all Vice-Chancellors and Directors of universities, inviting their participation in the prestigious “Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam” (ABSS). The event, commemorating the 2nd anniversary of the National Education Policy 2020, is scheduled to be held at ITO, Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on the 29th and 30th of July 2023.

The ABSS aims to provide a platform for educators, academicians, and policymakers to come together and discuss various aspects of the National Education Policy 2020 and its implementation. It is anticipated that important initiatives will be unveiled during the event, fostering insightful discussions and deliberations.

In a matter of immense pride, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, has graciously consented to grace the occasion and deliver the inaugural address on the 29th of July at the Plenary Hall of India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The inaugural session will be broadcast live from 10:00 AM onwards on Doordarshan, major TV channels, and YouTube. Additionally, a live webcast of the event will be available at the link: www.absswebcast.in.

In light of this significant event, the UGC urges all universities to make necessary arrangements for a large number of students, teachers, and staff to view the live telecast/webcast of the ABSS. The participation of all attendees should be recorded and shared on the UGC’s University Activity Monitoring Portal at uamp.ugc.ac.in before the 31st of July 2023. This will ensure that the contributions of various institutions are duly acknowledged and included in the proceedings of the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam.

Professor Manish R. Joshi, the Secretary of the University Grants Commission, expressed his enthusiasm and conveyed his warm regards to all participants. He urged the academic community to seize this opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions and contribute to the advancement of the education sector in India.

The ABSS promises to be a landmark event in the field of education, fostering collaboration and exchange of ideas that will play a crucial role in shaping the future of India’s academic landscape.
